Today we look at a game that was released on the Nintendo DS and had a British explorer at the forefront of the game – Henry Hatsworth. The computer game Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure was released in 2009 and was developed by EA Tiburon and Published by EA Games. It follows the adventures of Henry Hatsworth who is on a mission to find the golden suit. If you own the said suit at hand you will then comtrol and technically own the Puzzle Realm.
The game followed a very simple structure – it was part side scroller game and part puzzle. The game was split between the two screens that the DS used – the top was used to move Hatsworth through the game and whenever he defeated an enemy that bad person would be turned into a brick and go to the bottom screen and be part of the puzzle you have to solve. The bricks at the bottom of the screen can only be cleared when there is 3 of them In a row and are the same colour.
Many of the blocks have different powers that can actually be used throughout the game as well when they reach the top of the bottoms screen. Just like Mario, you can also go into a mode called “tea time” which makes Hatsworth invincible for a small amount of time.
There are many worlds that you can visit throughout the game including Mysteria, sky land and Tealand. Throughout the levels you earn coins which you can use on upgrades.
The game got predominantly positive reviews with reviewers complimenting the game for its great blend of platform and puzzle game.
