Happy Fourth Birthday to us!!!
Yes, today is our fourth birthday and I still find it crazy that it has been that long already! This year has been our biggest one to date and there has been so much that has happened! I have got to interview some of the most interesting people, seen some fantastic shows and also we have also gained some fantastic writers along the way such as Improv Guru David Escebedo and Top Notch show reviewer Charlotte!
The one thing I find crazy about this year is just how much our readership has grown – by the day our numbers are increasing and I thank each and every one of you for taking the time to sit there and read our articles! I am so grateful to you all and it always pushes me to interview more acts and to write a lot more.
I am hoping with year 4 I can bring you even more great content and hopefully some great articles along the way as well. I already have a lot of things already lined up that I am super excited to share with you all but you will have to watch this site in the next few months to see what they are!
So in ‘True Phoenix Remix Tradition” here is a run down of 10 of our favourite articles from the past year!

Date Posted: 29 April 2019
Link To Article: https://thephoenixremix.com/2019/04/29/this-means-tour-interview-josh-ramsay-marianas-trench/
Reason for article: One of the biggest highlights of the year so far was to sit down with the lead singer of Josh Ramsay of Marianas Trench to discuss all things music. Josh has been one of the producers on many songs including Carly Rae Jepson’s Call Me Maybe and the opportunity to talk to someone who has so much talent was really interesting. His band is going on tour with Europe in November and I got the chance to find out all about it and what they have in store for their fans.

4 CLASSIC ANDY MONTH – INTERVIEW -PREPARING FOR A SHOW
Date Posted: 18th September 2018
Link To Article: https://thephoenixremix.com/2018/09/18/classic-andy-month-interview-preparing-for-a-show/
Reason for article: Classic Andy sort of help to me develop the concept of using each monthly theme to showcase a different improv group. Whilst we do not do it every month this is the first time that we actually did this and it was welcomed by such a great response. I received messages of praise as to what a good idea it was and that it should be something that we do more to really promote the improv scene so I listened and I delivered. Thanks to Classic Andy’s new improv format this all happened, if that hadn’t occured, neither has this idea until a later date.
5 TASTE OF STATES – CANDLE SALAD
Date Posted: 20th October 2018
Link To Article: https://thephoenixremix.com/2018/10/30/taste-of-states-this-week-candle-salad/
Reason for article: A year and a bit later and this is still one of my favourite articles to write. There is so many unusual foods in the United States and this happened to be one of the weirdest ones I have come across to date. I do wonder why or even how this came about but still, it is not just the combination it is also the way they plate it I mean – why? My list of food for this article is getting longer by the minute and cannot wait to share more with you
6 LETS TALK ABOUT….FIVE PROBLEMS WITH SOCIAL MEDIA
Date Posted: 1st November 2018
Link To Article: https://thephoenixremix.com/2018/11/01/lets-talk-about-five-problems-with-social-media/
Reason for article: Social Media is a topic that I find completely and utterly amazing and if I had more time to read into how people use it for personas etc I really would. However, back in November I did a month of talking about a different topic a day and one of the subjects I spoke about was the problems with social media. I don’t think Social Media is a bad thing I think it has allowed the world to develop into a really technological beast. However saying that I also feel that there is a lot of bad things about social media and that is why I enjoyed writing this article. I could of written so much more then five points.

Reason for article: This year has been a very exciting one as it has brought along a lot of brand new writers. One of those writers is none other then David Escobedo, a wizard of knowledge from California who has recently moved to the United Kingdom. It is so great having David writing the Tidbit articles as they are quick reads and also really insightful and educational to both older and newer improvisers. A really insightful read and definitely one you should keep track of.

Charlotte wrote me an email asking if we could publish her review about James Acaster’s latest tour and then straight after that she become one of our reviewers and regular writers! This article was written in January but it is still being given love and being read by many!
