Hello! Tell us all about your show!

I am the stage manager of Fringe’s chillest show, Channel, which encourages audiences to come as they are during one of the most chaotic festivals in the world. The show invites audiences to sit down, get comfortable, and listen to what we take for granted. The only show where noise bleed from outside is embraced and mixed into the music, while audience members themselves are able to contribute to the sound bath with their own words/noises that are expertly mixed in real-time to create a hypnotic melody by lead artist Jack McGuire with lighting designed by Itohan Edoloyi that reacts in real time to what is being sampled. Running 75 minutes, this is not a show to miss.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

This will be my third year going to Edinburgh Fringe, and the advice I got from the top that sticks with me is to make sure you build in moments of rest and self-care, because the whole month is a sprint.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Get Up. Eat. Work show. See Theater. Eat. Work more shows. Eat. See more Theater. Have a nightcap with Friends. Go Home. Sleep. Do it again. Sleep in September.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

The Pie Maker

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Being able to see and access art from all over the world. Especially seeing the work of friends that I don’t get to see all year, since they live so far away.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

I will be bringing my notebook, fidget toys, toothpicks, and a well-loved deck of UNO cards. If you know, you know.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Meal deals from Tesco are what the Fringe is built on. I have really learned to maximize my order. However, Haribo starmix and Kinder bars are my weakness, though, so I have to avoid those aisles while inside.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Chill Self-Care
