Hello! Tell us all about your show!

‘Spin Cycle: The Lesbian Laundrette Play’ is ‘eternal sunshine of the spotless mind’ meets the ‘L Word’. Off West End’s 2026 OffFest award-winner, Spin Cycle champions Irish heritage and queer and gender non-conforming characters.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

We are really looking forward to seeing ‘Bigfoot Ripped My Dog In Half I Saw It’ by Xhloe and Natasha and ‘Redacted’ by Voloz Collective! There are so many incredible shows at Fringe this year, and we plan to see as much as we can. We’ll especially be on the lookout for anything written by or about lesbians (duh).

Bethan: I am very keen to see “The Legend of Crystal Shell” by the hilarious Kristen Schaal. She has a truly unmatched and chaotic feeling about her acts and seeing her live will be such a treat.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

Zofia: I have been to the fringe before, but only as an audience member. I think we managed to pack in 24 shows in 5 days… needless to say it was an incredible and intense experience. Going as a performer this year, the biggest advice we’ve gotten is to stay healthy and hydrated as best as we can.

Bethan: I have never been! I am going as a director this year and the advice we have received is to stay cool and collected, nourished and look after ourselves. I will be making sure Zofia and Rhiannon are well watered and fed!

If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?

Zofia: At the end of the day, we’re theatre kids, so getting to be in an environment that is filled with creatives and watch new ideas come to life on stage is so exciting. There is so much talent that isn’t in the mainstream, and, at its core, that’s what the fringe is for- supporting new work and creating a space for emerging artists. Like the majority of performers at fringe, I work a “survival job”, meaning I usually have to find small pockets of time where I can focus on my creativity, so I feel really lucky to go to fringe, and get to just be an artist for a month.

Bethan: The atmosphere! The city! The architecture!

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe.

Rhiannon:

Wake up.

Eat granola.

Flyer.

Sell out.

Win a fringe first.

Get a deal with Netflix.

Become a lesbian icon.

Buy a house in west london.

Go missing.

Turn up in the Bahamas.

It was a publicity stunt.

It worked.

I don’t know, I’ve never been to the fringe – that’s just how it worked out in my head.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

Zofia: I don’t know about restaurants, but Rhi makes a great chilli, which I anticipate will go triple platinum in our flat this August.

Rhiannon: I heard Tesco does a mean meal deal.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Zofia: The best part about performing is always the audience. It is so wonderful to hear how people connect to the story. Last year, after our debut show in Camden, someone messaged us that they had brought a date to the play and it had gone really well. Six months later they messaged us again- they were still together and very much in love, and she used the Spin Cycle programme to make their six-month anniversary card. How cute is that?

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

Zofia: I’m bringing my girlfriend. Highly recommend casting your girlfriend in your play so you never have to lesbian yearn for them.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Rhiannon: Make a show with your girlfriend.  Cut costs by sharing a bed.  If it’s cold, you will have your love to keep you warm.
