Hello! Tell us about yourself?

I’m a comedian, writer, and actor in NYC, originally from Minnesota. I wrote on and star in an upcoming miniseries from Steven Soderbergh; I have a set on Comedy Central; and was a writer on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the fringe?

I cheated a bunch. And I’m bad at word-association.

Tell us all about your show!

I’m a serial monogamist who’s very bad at one of those words. The show is gutsy and dark, because it’s me admitting the guilty secret that most people keep forever. (FYI: Coming to the show doesn’t make you a cheater…actually, avoiding it seems way more suspicious.)

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I’m living with five other comedians and I haven’t seen any of their shows yet…I can’t wait to hear them rehearsing through the walls.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

I have not! So my advice is: you’ll have a better time at the fringe if you come see my show, every night, and tell all your friends to come see it too, and give me little compliments every time you see me.

Favourite one liner you have done in a show and why?

I have a big birthmark on my cheek, and I love saying, “People stare at it all the time, and sometimes I’m like, ‘hey buddy, eyes down here.’” Why? Because it still amazes me every time that people don’t think it’s cheesy.

What have been some of the most unique and different comedy shows you have seen this year and why?

I’ve seen a PowerPoint show reviewing texts from friends who are now dead, and it’s so funny and meaningful. Oh, also I saw someone rap in a Midwestern accent.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

I wake up, drink some room temperature coffee I didn’t finish yesterday, and make a new pot of coffee that I won’t finish (meal prep for tomorrow). I decide that my hair looks good enough that I don’t have to wash it, a decision that I will regret by the afternoon. Then I find a coffee shop where I can tell myself I’m going to listen to my show and be productive, but where I actually text with friends (but on my laptop so other people miiiight think I’m working?). And then showtime!

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

Get good at getting out of awkward social situations. “Sorry, gotta go get a head start on my taxes.”

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Every night presses the oldest button: I do my little bits, and people tell me good job.

The most challenging thing about performing at the fringe?

Not getting addicted to cigarettes by the end of the month.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

£10,000 cash, a personal chef, and a king-sized bed. In absence of those, sunscreen/good shoes/a winning attitude.

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

Buy your street team beer.

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

My ex, who would be shocked to hear some of these details. Come to think about it, my other ex…and another one…

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

@chloebadcliffe on all platforms

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Cheaters sometimes prosper.
