When looking for new band or a new album to listen to, you want something that is going to create an impact and stay with you for one reason or another. Today we look at the brand new album by Souls Extolled.

So firstly, who is Souls Extolled

Meet the rock band Souls Extolled a band from Austin, Texas. The group are made up of Zach Black, JP Ortiz, Joe Valadez and they explore different elements of rock.

Let’s Talk About the album

MMXXII is the third album by the band and is home 12-tracks that explore modern rock, grunge, indie and proto-metal. The band created the album that had themes of reflection and was made without any limitation or rule other than to express themselves honestly through the music.

Stand out tracks on the album

Sweet Glow

This is the opening track of the album and the melodic guitars reel you in. It Is a really interesting song to start an album with. It sort of has essence of bands such as The Used, Black Sabbath, Kings Of Leon and Kiss, I know a random mix but these were the first ideas when i first listened. It is a great song to open the album with and the five minutes take you on a journey.

1k Red Balloons

This song really spoke to me, I found it a joy to listen to and it’s the prefect track to listen to on a summers day. This song is very different from the one above as the sound has a different style of rock to it. It is a track that lwhen you listen to it you know will be great live.

Just Dreams

Pacey, different drama created by guitars. This is a track that allows you to hear how talented this band are. Listen for the guitar solos, stay for the journey the lyrics and vocals take you on.

What’s the verdict?

This is an exciting album, there is a lot to enjoy and also a lot to listen to. The guitar solos are fantastic and it’s really refreshing that each track sounds so different but somehow still make this album work really well altogether.
