Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Roy Niv

Tell us about :

Your latest single you have released:

My latest single is Stay Up. An acoustic-rock song that starts as a ballad and evolves into a powerful burst of energy and melody. We also shot a wild music video which tells a love story taking place during world war II. It was one of the most challenging and fun projects I have ever executed.

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

This is actually my first single and it felt very scary and amazing at the same time. I was working on a few songs for about a year but nothing preppers you to that moment when it’s time to get it out. It’s very fulfilling and the amazing feedback I got from the listeners made me go even deeper into making more songs and evolve as an artist.

Your favorite song that you have created that is an album track:

As I said, I have only released one single yet. But, I got an album waiting to be released and in it there’s a very special song called “Places Like This” and it’s one of the songs I’m most proud of. Can’t wait for you guys and the world to hear it as I honestly put every inch of my soul into this.

Your favourite song to play live:

My favorite song to perform is definitely “Stay Up”, this is such a powerful song to me and I love feeling the crowd’s energy when I play it as it’s starting slow and eventually reaching the peak and the whole crowd goes wild. Surprisingly, it is also the one that gets requested the most.

Your most emotional track:

My most emotional track is also “Places Like This״ as it was written about a very sensitive subject that means a lot to me. I believe once you’ll hear it you’ll understand. Some of my songs are hard rock and distorted but once I get into the other zone, I can get pretty emotional. It’s not always easy to write about my deepest fears and loves but eventually that is what music is for.

The best lyric you have ever written:

Interesting… I think it will also be “Places Like This”. I don’t know where it came from but the harmony just brought rage and pain out of me and suddenly I found myself writing with a depth I’ve never felt before.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

It’s one of those things you can’t explain with words but I’m gonna give it a shot. Everytime I go on stage I feel like this is what I was always meant to do. It’s like my body feels like it’s finally home and then just goes wild. I love feeling the adrenaline and excitment of myself and of the crowd. There’s no other feeling like that and I wish myself to feel each and every night for the rest of my life.

The hardest track to play live:

Definitely “Until I Get it Right”. It’s not out yet but the song is so hardcore and fast that it’s not only the hardest but also the most fun! It allows me to go wild on stage and jump around like crazy. Also the rest of the band likes playing it as it brings awesome energies into the venue and makes everybody jump.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

First of all, an acoustic guitar to write songs on the way, a very good book for inspiration, my girlfriend. Other than that I don’t really need anything else because being with good friends is what it’s all about. When you’re with your boys you can manage almost everywhere.

Describe your fans in three words:

Awesome, sexy and revolutionary.

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

“Creep” by Radiohead is one of the songs I’m connected to the most, and can easily relate to the music and lyrics. I actually perform with a cover version of Creep every time I do a show just because it’s one of the greatest songs ever written from my point of view.

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

This year is about to get pretty wild as I’m going to release my next few singles which is going to lead to the full album. This is very exciting and I hav eno doubt it’s going to be freaking awesome! To stay tuned about new releases and news please connect with me on social media:IG – https://www.instagram.com/roy_niv/YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCY3bvU1Ca207BwxyH3hFZFwFB – https://www.facebook.com/roynivmusicTwitter – https://twitter.com/RoyNiv1
