The Travel Book – Pomodoro e Mozzarella, Eastbourne, East Sussex

When you go to the beach, the last thing you imagine that you will be recommending an Italian restaurant as usually the go to thing would be fish and chips (well, in Britain anyway) but if you visit Eastbourne then there is a place that I highly recommend that you go and visit and that place is Pomodoro e Mozzarella.

Pomodoro e Mozzarella is located on Cornfield Terrace which is in short distance to both the train station and also the beach. It is open every day of the week from midday and closes around 10:30pm – 11pm and can get very busy so you may need to book a table ahead of time.

When you usually go to a restaurant and there are 100s of options on the menu it can be a call for concern however with Pomodoro e Mozzarella it is actually a blessing as the food is so good and made fresh. The restaurant is home to everything from starters such as Calamari Fritti, Bruschetta Pomodoro e Mozzarella, pasta like Tagliatelle del Vittorio, mains such as Bistecca al Chianti, any flavour of pizza you can imagine including Pizza Napoletana and also desserts such as Panna Cotta Al Caramello.

We came across this restaurant when we went to this area of the coast this year and it was recommended in many articles about food in the area. We went when the restrictions were still in play in England and they did it really well with plastic dividers between the tables. The food was absolutely delicious and some of the best Italian food I have had in the UK. It was really well priced as well and I cannot wait to return.
