Off The Record – EP FOCUS – Blissful Madness, Nuela Charles

Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first!  Today we look at the brand new EP by Nuela Charles that was released last week – Blissful Madness

Nerve

This is the opening track on this three track EP and it welcomes you with a punch, this track has a really soulful feel to it with this catchy beat that reels you in. It is a really catchy track that highlights the talents and the emotions of Nuela Charles singing. This song has tones of a classic pop track with some really great alternative undertones. It feels to me that this song has a hint of nostalgia to music that was released in the early noughties that is missing in today’s music world.

Space

This song feels quite futuristic from the get go and has a completely different feel and vibe to the first track. This song feels like it takes you sort of on a dream like journey and really highlights the utopian alt style of Nuela. This is a track that makes you want to dance as once it gets going there is this really fun musical rhythm to it. There are hints of electric to this tone which also being in the connotations of the title of this track as it feels like a metaphor of the lyrics related to the universe. Very clever.

More By The Minute

This is the last track on the EP and it is a track that is slightly slower then the last two but sort of brings the whole album together. It has elements that hint of the other two songs that make this EP feel rounded and well contained. This song is a lot slower then the other two and focusses on the world of soul and you can really feel the emotion in every word that is sung. The guitar melodies that are heard throughout are a highlight of the track and greats this lovely chilled out vibe.
