Forgotten Songs! – This Week – White Flag

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

White Flag – Dido

Back in the early noughties Dido was a huge name in the pop industry and today we will be looking at a track that was one of my personal favourites by the musician and even featured David Boreanaz in the music video.

White Flag was released the 1st September 2003 under the record label of Arista, Cheeky and BMG Japan. The track was written by Dido Armstrong, Rollo Armstrong and Rick Nowels. The single was the lead track off of her second album that was called Life For Rent. This track is also seen as one of Dido’s signature tracks. White Flag was welcomed with a lot of love from the critics, it was nominated for Best Female Vocal Performance at the 46th Grammy Awards and won Best British Single at the 2004 Brit Awards.

The song did very well in the charts and sold over ten million worldwide entering the number one spot in many countries including Australia, Czech Republic, Germany, Croatia, Norway and Austria to name a few. In the UK it only went into the charts at number 12.

I really liked this track it was a great song and it had lovely lyrics and a wonderful music melody. The music video that went with it was also full of lots of emotions and drama as well.
