Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
PIZZARIAS PIZZA CHIPS
Today we look at a snack that was released in the early nineties and was discontinued in the late nineties. However, they have such a cult following that it was announced October last year that the brand was to be relaunched. Pizzarias were a chip that was made from fresh pizza dough. The chips were produced by the Keebler company and were developed by Adam Burck.
The Pizzarias came in three different flavours, cheese pizza, pizza supreme and zesty pepperoni. They were incredibly successful in the launch and received a revenue of $75 million in the first year alone.
There is a lot of fans of this snack which has lead to an actual cult following. The Facebook group wanted them to return and on that page they have over 10,000 likes. Only time will tell if the snacks will be as successful when they return.
