Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first! Today we look at the new album that was released lat Friday by YUNGBLUD – Weird!
Teresa
This is the opening track on the album and you are welcomed to this piano melody that sounds like it is made by a children’s toy that creates this unusual eerie yet innocence sound to the song. The lyrics are powerful and is a really good choice to open the album as it sets up what this album is about. The first part of the song is very much about the vocals and the piano but when you get to the next start of the song when the beat kicks in it emphasises the emotion in the track and the themes it is discussing.
Superdeadfriends
This song has a real punk rock style vibe to it, there is shouting there is this electronic sound throughout that creates this rustic essence to this song. It is very different to the sounds before this track which sort of defines what you can expect from this musician – the unexpected, he doesn’t stick to one genre and always hints at others. The distortion on this track makes it unique and an interesting listen.
Love Song
When you start this song and you see the title of this song you expect it to be a song about a relationship but when you actually listen to the lyrics it is not just about that it is about loving yourself as a person as well. Considering that a lot of Yungblud’s fanbase are teens, early twenties I think this is an important track on the album that some may find helpful.
Charity
This song has a real essence of the nineties and it feels like if Oasis and Blur had a collaboration it would sound something like this. It has a real indie sound to it and if you are a fan of the song Loner then you will like this. Part of the track is spoken and the other part is sung and it has this really addictive sound to it that you won’t be able to stop tapping along with it.
