In The Games Corner – Seaman, The Dreamcast

Today we look at a game that took advantage of the Dreamcast Microphone attachment. Seamen was a virtual Pet video game where you looked after forms of freshwater fish that have humans style faces.

Seamen was released in August 2000 and it was developed by Vivarium and Jellyvision and published by Sega. The game fell into the genre of simulation. The aim of the game is for the player to feed and care for the seamen. It has very human mannerisms of behaviors, which players have to interact with.

You had to check on the fish every day otherwise they could die. You would use Dreamcast controllers to interact with machinery and to have physical contact. The aim of the game is to develop the semen to different stages of their life including Mushrooms, Gilman Podfish, Tadman and Frogman.

This game had a lot of positive reviews and even had a number of different versions of the game released. It was also named one of the top 10 weirdest games of all time.
