• Karen Gillan wore a wig in the pilot, and throughout the series, as she had shaved her head for her role as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
• In the episode “Nuggett of Wisdom”, there is a red toy Dalek on Kevin’s bedside. The Daleks are the enemy of the Doctor in Doctor Who (2005), in which Karen Gillan played the Doctor’s companion, Amy Pond.
• Karen Gillan modelled Eliza Dooley after a friend with whom she had a falling out.
• A profile for Eliza Dooley was actually set up on the social media website Facebook, specifically for the show
• ABC picked up the pilot on May 10th, 2014 before commissioning a first season soon afterwards.
• The show does not have a laughter track.
