This Christmas, not only will be entertained by the dramas of the soaps, the mysteries of Sherlock or be sitting down watching the Queen Speech, we will also be watching a television acting debut of one of the UKs best loved Comedians and that ‘my friends’ (if you watch Good News you will recognise that as a quote) is Russell Howard.

Yes you head correctly, west country luvvie Russell Howard is making his acting debut this Christmas in a show called  A Gert Lush Christmas which he has also written with stand up comedian Steve Williams. The one off special is set in the west country and will star Russell Howards sister, actress Kerry Howard, Neil Morrissey, Sophie Thompson and Hannah Britland.

The story is based around Dan Colman brings his girlfriend home to the West Country for the holidays. His fitness loving dad and over affectionate mum make the visit an interesting one. It has not been announced yet when it will be on television but it is sure to be a hoot.
