Comedian Of The Week – Elis James

This week, we will be praising the man who not only sprinkles our ears with joyous hilarities on Radio X but is also dazzling our screen with some hilarious comedy every week – the person that I am talking about is none other than jolly welsh man – Elis James.

The 35 year old comedian is originally from Carmarthen in Wales and his mother worked alongside the father of Rhod Gilbert when he was younger (who he ended up being the support act for in 2010). Elis did a variation of temp jobs and was also in a indie punk band called Heck before he went into the comedy scene full time.

Since 2014, Elis has been on Radio X / XFM hosting a weekend morning show with comedian John Robins. As well as presenting the morning show he also co-wrote and co-starred in the BBC Radio Wales sketch show Here Be Dragons which won the 2014 Sony Award Bronze for Best Comedy.

As well as radio, Elis has been in various television shows including Crims, Crackanory and The Committee Meeting. His most recent venture is being the housemate in the sitcom Josh and his comedic humour is shining through! Elis character is hilarious and is one of the top highlights of the show and that is why he is our comedian of the week and the reason you should be watching Josh.
