Hello! Tell us all about your show!
Friends. Comrades. Enemies…
Caillte Lighthouse. The coast of Angus, North Sea, just after WW1.
Follow Mac and Morgan, two experienced keepers and their training of James, before things occur that question their loyalty, friendship and ultimately, their sanity.
LIGHTHOUSE is a gripping piece that delves into the human psyche of trust, paranoia and greed with stylish, well-placed humour, jeopardy, suspense and a stellar cast.
Listed by The Herald as one of the Top 20 Must-See Shows of EdFringe 2022, LIGHTHOUSE will take you on a 55-minute journey to hell and back like no other.
‘Rock solid performances and a great sense of atmosphere go a long way to illuminate this new murder mystery thriller. Boasting simple effects which add greatly to the dread-filled atmosphere’ – The Scotsman

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Yes – this will be our 5th year, and we are still learning. My advice would be to take all of the advice you can get from as many different people as possible, plan early and be prepared for things to go wrong. I would also say that it’s your show, your baby, your idea – so ultimately, if you’re not sure what to do at times, just go with your gut. No-one can sell your show better than you no matter how much experience they have.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
- Get up early, wash, grab bag, go
- Head into town and grab a large breakfast, a coffee and catch an early show
- Flyer baby!
- Catch another show
- Perform
- Go for a drink
- Catch at least 3 more shows
- Walk back to accommodation and repack bag for the next day!
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
Too many to think of! Vittoria, Noodles ‘n’ Rice, KauKau Poke, The Edinburgh Cafe, Biblos…the city has so many excellent eateries to choose from that cater for every need.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
Being on the biggest creative platform that the planet has to offer with thousands of like-minded people.
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
This year I will have a picture of my ever-supportive mother who passed suddenly last August. She loved the fringe.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Starve! There’s no easy way. Or at least, a Tesco/Sainsburys meal deal will get you through the day worse case. If you have accommodation with a kitchen – result! Scrambled egg or beans on toast are complete winners every time and will save you a fortune.
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
X, Instagram, FB and our website www.earlydoors.org.uk.
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
It’s bloody terrifying.
