Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

PORK BALLS ON A STICK
Today we are heading to Alabama to the Oak Mountain Spring Fair to take a look at a dish that does pork with a twist. Welcome to the world of Pork Balls on a Stick.
The dish is created by first slicing a pork tenderloin. A sauce is then made up with cream cheese with chives and sugar. This is then spread onto the park. It is then rolled into a ball and placed on a stick. There are four pork balls placed on a stick.
Once these have been placed on a stick they are put in soy sauce and then put on the frill to cook. Once they are cooked through a little bit more cream cheese is added. Apparently the cream cheese is a magic ingredient and it acts sort of like a butter and really flavours the pork when it melts.
