Hello! Tell us all about your show!

My new show Pushing 30 is about arranged marriage, breaking generational curses, and how big tech and the manosphere has ruined modern dating.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

My show is directed by Tom Clarkson and Owen Visser of Mr. Thing fame, and I literally chased them down and begged them to work with me after seeing The Christmas Thing live in London back in December. I never tire of watching the live show and old clips on their Instagram, I think they’re geniuses, and I’m constantly pinching myself that I get to work with them to bring my show to life when they feel completely out of my league talent-wise.

Kemah Bob is one of my closest friends and also a fellow Texan girl, I love her comedy because she’s so hilarious and introspective in a way that feels very uncharted. I did Melbourne Comedy Festival with Sophie Duker and Olga Koch and we all laughed about how our shows are different analyses of the patriarchy, their shows are so amazing and funny I can not recommend them highly enough.

I’ve been a fan of Demi Adejuyigbe for years so I’m excited he’ll finally be at the Fringe same time as me so i can watch his show! I wouldn’t even be at Fringe if not for Zach Zucker, Jonny Woolley, and Laoise Holohan of Stamptown. I’ve seen the live show no less than one million times and it really inspired me to push myself out of my own comfort zone while writing my second hour. Telling people at Fringe to see Stamptown is kind of like being like “have you heard of this artist named Beyonce? She’s really good,” but much like Beyonce, the Stamptown hype is well-earned and I’m so ecstatic for their Fringe run and upcoming Netflix special.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

I did a limited run of 3 shows last year and it was because I didn’t think I could handle the full run emotionally or physically, but after my 3rd show ended last year I felt really left out that I wasn’t as exhausted as everyone else. This year, I’m really looking forward to fully embracing and buying into the madness.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

I have a gym membership so I’ll wake up, rockclimb, do some strength training, make myself healthy meals for the day, and try not to cancel all of that out when everyone goes drinking at the end of the day. Last year, staying on track with my fitness helped me maintain my sanity a lot.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

Mother India Cafe

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Fringe weeds out people who do comedy for fame and ticket sales. To me, as someone who always sells well in big cities in America, Fringe was my first time performing to audiences of 3 people in years. But i was exhilirated by the challenge, it reminded me of my open mic days. There’s something so satisfying about winning an audience of one person over after comics before you on the line-up tried and failed. To me, my time at the Fringe is not about my ego, it’s about honing my craft.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

I always sing a honky tonk song at karaoke nights to bring a little bit of Texas to Edinburgh.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Life is too short to save money, worry about the credit card debt when you go home.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

Twitter and Instagram

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Big tech sucks
