It is festival season and that means that in the next month there is so many great comedy festivals to look forward to! This month we are looking at some of the great shows that you can see at the Edinburgh Fringe. Thank you! Sid Singh: Love Bombing is about the time earlier this year that I went on a date with my stalker! After being a purely political comedian for over a decade at the Fringe, I wanted to tell the story of the only thing crazier and weirder than our global political order: my dating life.
That being said my show remains a fundraiser as it is every year for The Center for Gender and Refugee Studies as we keep up the legal battle against the Trump Administration. How did I do that and have time to date? Well, in many ways, that’s why I went out with my stalker.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
So many! The fringe is such a great place to see the most talented acts from all over the world! Clayton Smith (USA), Milo Edwards (UK), Lara Ricote (Mexico), and Mike Rice (North Korea) are just a few!
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
–Ive done most Fringes since 2013! The best advice you can give people is to embrace the chaos. Don’t be worried about burning out. You will! It’s part of it!
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
Wake up, coffee, show, eat, show, drink, sleep. Do that 25 times and try to sneak in vegetables, naps, and watching other people’s shows when you can!
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
It used to be Wings! RIP to the legend! It’s now the Crepe stand outside Assembly! See you there after midnight!
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
Probably the chance to see my friends after a show and hang out. I spend most of the year touring and it can be a lonely life 9-10 months of the year.
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
No, which I gotta say makes me wonder if my festival experience has ever been special!
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Watch shows on the Free Fringe! The best performers performing at affordable prices!
