Hello! Tell us all about your show!
Amna is a good Muslim daughter. Mostly. At home she’s modest, obedient, invisible. Online she’s PersianBaby – bold, flirtatious, watched. Pink Rabbit is a fierce, coming-of-age, darkly funny solo play about faith, female desire and the intoxicating power of attention. As Amna hides her OnlyFans from her strict mother, the lies start to fracture. Caught between mosque and male gaze, shame and thrill, she begins to ask: who is she performing for? Raw, intimate and electric, Pink Rabbit explores intergenerational and cultural conflict – and the dangerous moment when being seen finally feels better than being honest.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
It’s so inspiring having so many people I know at this year’s Fringe, like Mimi Martin’s returning solo show, ‘Youth In Flames’ & Hadsan Mahamud’s heartfelt romcom, ‘Crush’! I’m also really excited about ‘Reparations’ and ‘LANDSFRAU’, which represent voices we don’t always see on stage.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
I have not! I’ve only watched performers at Fringe. But both my director and co-producer, Alessandro Babalola and Mimi Martin, have won Fringe Firsts, so I feel very well supported. Advice is probably to be as organised as you can be, uplift people around you (we’re all in this month together), and give it everything you’ve got! We love what we do, so make every moment matter.
If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?
The electric energy of a city alive with art, sharing Pink Rabbit with everyone as part of the festival’s buzz.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at fringe?
Wake up. Get ready. Warm up. Flyering. Feel good tunes. Probably emails and admin (it never stops!) and bearing my heart and soul on Underbelly’s stage. Work hard, play hard.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
It’s FRINGE! Living, breathing and existing in such a vibrant and artistic creative city, whilst taking the audience on a dynamic journey for the hour you’ve got them.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Go to the supermarket after 6 pm – usually there’s some banging reductions on food.

In three words why should people come see the show?
Funny. Risky. Unfiltered.
