For The Love Of Film – Day 1 – Tomorrow Never Dies

Everyday this month we are looking at different songs from different films that I love and feel that they deserve their time to shine in the limelight. They are all bits of music that I love and I wanted to talk about them more in depth so that maybe you the reader can have similar experiences and understand why I like them.

Song From Soundtrack: Tomorrow Never Dies – Sheryl Crow
Film: Tomorrow Never Dies
Year: 1997

I like James Bond but there are only two eras I enjoy – Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan. I grew up on these two Bond versions when I was a kid so I saw a few on television, I also used to spend a lot of time with my guy mates on our days off at someones house playing Goldeneye. Yes, I went around with four guys and I played as good as them when I wanted to. There are only a couple of Brosnan films I like and this film is one of them. I love the car scene with the remote control car as well. The final thing I love about this film is the lead song.

I just really love the song for Tomorrow Never Dies, it is such a fantastic song for an action movie and love to listen to it on my playlists as it is great fun. It is dramatic, exciting and has a lot of power and a fantastic use of orchestral to create this real force of a song. It is a song that creates this really great way to portray the heart of what a Bond song is throughout the undertones.
