Films are something that we all look towards for escapism – the action, the humour, the romance, the animation. Sometimes these can hold so much more meaning then just an image on a screen and create narratives and memories in our own lives. I am not a fan of Christmas versions of televisions shows or film, they are easy money makers, predictable and dull. I saw Guardians Of The Galaxy was doing a short film, I was not sure how I felt about it but watched it all the same.

It was a light hearted forty two minute film that is focussed on stealing Kevin Bacon as a Christmas present for Starlord. It is silly, fun and a enjoyable watch. Saying that, I have only ever watched it once and whilst I enjoyed it I see no need to really watch it again. There is something about it thought that I do love.

The Christmas Song that was created for the film is really catchy. I instantly really liked it and it was automatically added to my Christmas playlist. I always have it stuck in my head at this time of year. So what better way to celebrate Christmas week then with this.

Facts about The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

• It was shot during the production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023).
• This is set after Avenger Endgame and before Guardians of the Galaxy 3
• The house used as Kevin Bacon’s in the film actually belongs to music artist David Crowder. It was remodeled by his wife, Toni, who is an architect.
• The only Guardians of the Galaxy project to not involve actress Zoe Saldaña.
