Travelling shouldn’t be that hard in the United Kingdom but guess what – it really can be. If you are a tourist coming to the United Kingdom, a lot of people like to travel to all places from London, to Scotland to Wales, Devon and beyond. As someone who has to do it a lot, let me give you some tips on how to make your travel life easier.
Taking the Sleeper
Prepare for this journey, I warn you now. A lot of tourists take the sleeper train and since it is cheap, they tend to also do it via the sitting section. If you are going to do this prepare. Get a really good eye mask as even though they ‘dim the lights’ they are as bright as daylight the whole journey. Also another thing I highly recommend getting good headphones as there is always one person with a laptop who is selfish. A pillow can also be something that comes in hand as well.
Trains
Trains in the United Kingdom can be hellish. With the recent pay rises they are still annoyingly not working correctly so you need to be aware of this. If you are travelling be sure to plan ahead and always have a plan B. If you are heading to Scotland it may pay you to go the LNER route along the East then the West coast as at the moment their delays seem to be less.
Airports
If you are coming to the United Kingdom in the summer, then you need to be aware that the airports can be very busy. If you are going to be in departures the best advice I can give you is try to find somewhere nice to sit first – if you head towards gates (make sure you can return if you need to) there are usually seating areas others do not know about.
