Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

MARIE CALLENDER’S CHICKEN POT PIE
Today we are heading down to the frozen food aisle to take a look at a product that is available in the grocery stores. Before we take a look at the said item, let us explore the actual company first.
Marie Callender’s is a company that was founded in the 1940’s in Long Beach California but the Callender family Cal Warren, Don and Marie. It is a restaurant that eventually reached out into the frozen food products years later.
One of the products that Marie Callender’s sell in the frozen food aisle is Chicken Pot Pie. It can be purchased from a variety of shops including Walmart, Target and BJs to name a few for an average price of $3.50.
The meal has chicken in it with carrots, celery and peas that are encased in a homemade golden flaky crust. Each pot pie has 11 grams of protein, no artificial flavours or colours.
There has been a lot of varied reviews online about this – there are a lot that have been posted praising the pie and it’s flavour and others are commenting that the pastry has changed and it is not as goof as it was before.
