Hello! Tell us about yourself?

BAILEY
: I’m a writer and performer based in Brooklyn, and have been doing comedy for… let’s just say a really long time. My stories centered mostly on family, so in addition to my boss, please don’t bring my relatives.

RICKY: I am originally from Malaysia but grew up in New York. I was a lawyer before becoming a comedian (yes the pipeline is real) So if people heckle me on stage, I can now….sue them.

Tell us all about your show!

BAILEYDon’t Tell Our Bosses is a showcase of two brand new half-hours about two young and eager career kids who were competitive, spiteful, horny and did I already say spiteful? I think a lot of people can relate to entering a job with unrealistic expectations and fantasies and being completely disappointed with how the (working) world really works.

How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the fringe?

BAILEY
: Both of our half-hours are absolutely NSFW (not safe for work), so seriously, please don’t tell our bosses. I really don’t want to rewrite my résumé again.

RICKY: When Bailey said NSFW – we did not mean it in OnlyFan way, but like….comedy way. And because we really don’t want you to tell our bosses – that’s why we brought this show hundreds of miles (or is it…kilometergram?) away from our offices all the way to Edinburgh.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

BAILEYDrop Dead Gorgeous: A New Musical!, Shitty Mozart by Aaron Nemo, Dave Ahdoot: Ethnically Ambiguous, Thank You So Much For Coming by Alex Kern.

RICKY: Tiger Daughter by Charlene Kaye, Don’t Stop Believing by Torrey Shine, Waiting Room by Natalia Yangyganova, #40andSingle by Joyce Lao

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

BAILEY: This is my first Fringe, Ricky is the pro!

RICKY: This will be my third time – advice would be – just have fun and enjoy the creative energy throughout the month and make friendssss!!

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

BAILEY
: I’ll be performing my show GIMME A SIGN! at 10:45 at Three Sisters, drinking tons of coffee from Brew Lab, grabbing dumplings at Chop Chop and hitting the stage with Ricky at 21:20. That’s right, I used military time, look at me! In between it all, I want to see as many shows as possible.

Ricky: I like to take a morning run/jog – because it is a good idea to exhaust all your energy before doing two shows a day I like to grab some food before I start flyering for my shows. After my show, I will try to spend time watching shows / supporting my friends’ shows or just hanging out with friends.

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

BAILEY: I just want to remember that the festival will go by quickly and not take my time for granted. And if that fails, I hear there’s like a special kind of whiskey here?

Ricky: Asides from watching as many interesting and wild shows as possible, I also love spending the mornings hiking Aurhtur’s Seat – overlooking the magnificent view of the city of Edinburgh and just enjoying the highland winds.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

BAILEY
: Is it basic for me to say anywhere I can have a full Scottish breakfast? I live for baked beans in the morning!

Ricky: Tesco meal deal for life  (#artistlife)

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

BAILEY
: The best thing is going to be meeting new people and connecting over the fact that we all came here to share our silly/freaky/sad/delusional art with each other. Second best thing,

Ricky: Meeting like-minded performers and artists from all over the world and watching their arts.

Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?

BAILEY
: Buy a helicopter.

Ricky: Parkour-ing through all the hilly roads and castles

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

BAILEY
: If you’re over 30, a good pair of orthopedic shoes, some ibuprofen and your lawyer.

If you’re under 30, just your lawyer.

RICKY: Never trust the estimated time of arrival given by Google Map because 8/10 you will get lost in Edinburgh – especially when the streets are layered with different levels and that is not obvious on the map.

what’s the secret to successful flyering?

BAILEY
: Sticking out while staying humble. By the way, the woman in the ghost costume is me.

RICKY: Have a memorable/catchy one-liner intro when flyering. Be courteous and don’t be too pushy.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

RICKY
: Follow me on Instagram @ rickeerick or X @ rickysimcomedy
BAILEY
: Follow me on Instagram and X @heybailay, TikTok @baileyswilley0

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

RICKY: Bailey will take my three words….
BAILEY: Because. We’re. Hot.
