The Travel Book – Travel Through A Photo – Buckie, Scotland

There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

There is something great about rustic coastlines and rustic land and today we are heading to a place that is full of many wonderful places like this. Today we are heading to the East coast of Scotland to a little village called Buckie.

When I was in my late teens, we did an adventure from Aberdeen all the way to the Orkney Islands by public transport. One of the stops that we went to was a little fishing village called Buckie. When we were there we went walking and discovered this wonderful area that was really rugged and pretty.

This photograph may not look like the coast but just behind this photo is the sea. I took this photograph because I loved the contrast of water and the rough rocks and long grass.

I adore the colours of the grass as it is different colours and really creates a contrast against the darkness. I really like the bold dull colour of the water as it creates this bold dramatic environment.

I think this photo really highlights the wonders of the countryside in Scotland and makes you want to explore more.
