Improv

AndAlso Improv Month – INTERVIEW – Life’s Too Short For Films…

All this month we are speaking to AndAlso Improv, a company that is in Brighton and is ran by Heather and Jules. They host many improv classes, host shows, with plans for a theatre in Brighton in the future! They also run an Improv retreat which is also happening this month! In our final interview we do a classic quick fire round.

Favourite Television Show?

1 is impossible, so here are ten: Superstore, Better Call Saul, Big Mouth, The Wire, Beef, Brooklyn 99, All of rugby (says Jules), All of tennis (says both of us), Dark. Oh, and we’ve finally got round to watching Derry Girls. Heather identifies with Erin and Jules with Michelle.

Favourite film?

The Sound of Music for Heather, Jules doesn’t really watch films. They are too short. Characters die off just when you are getting to know them.

Favourite lyric from a song?

Maybe this verse from Piazza, Ney York catcher by Belle and Sebastian:

The catcher hits for .318 and catches every day

The pitcher puts religion first and rests on holidays

He goes into cathedrals and lies prostrate on the floor

He knows the drink affects his speed, he’s praying for a doorway

Back into the life he wants and the confession of the bench

Life outside the diamond is a wrench

Favourite work of art?

Heather: A minute of Silence by Marina Abramovich

Country you want to visit?

Heather: Cuba

Jules: Iceland

Favourite food?

Very spicy anything. Jules had a deep fried swordfish in Thailand he still dreams about. Heather will murder people for dhaal.

Favourite actor and actress?

Again, not sure we can do 1. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Julie Andrews, Bradley Whitford, America Ferrera, Maya Rudolph,

Favourite word?

You can’t write it on a respectful website, but it begins with F and is the beginning of all life.
