Hello! Tell us about your act ?

‘Rubbish Improvised Shakespeare: The Incomplete Works’ We have been making and touring Shakespeare for children and their families for the past decade.

In 2022 we decided to combine our love of improv and Shakespeare and thus the show was born. We have played across the UK and last year went to the Edinburgh fringe for the whole of the festival. We have developed this extended version into a full-length 90 minutes across two halves. We create in our Rubbish style a knock about, silly and fun take on the stories and tropes of Shakespeare.

How did you come up with the name of your show that you are taking to Liverpool Improv Festival?

We like the fact that lots of Shakespeare’s plays are lost such as Cardenio and hence the incomplete works.

Tell us a little bit about your style of show?

Shakespeare doesn’t turn up with his latest play and King James is in the audience. We either make a new show up or its off with our heads. We take suggestions that inspire the new play and we create visual and verbal feats which leave our audience asking, how did they do that? All the music is created live and we try to sing and dance. But we are Rubbish so we do our best.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the festival?

We are excited to watch Owen Scriven ‘Old Haunts’ we watched his show ‘Living, Dying, Dead’ last year and it was stunning. We are also excited to watch VUJO in ‘Like Father. Improvised Drag King Musical about Manhood’ I watched their interview with Mark and it sounds like a riot of fun.

What is the best thing about performing at the Liverpool Improv festival?

This is our second year at the festival in which we premiered the show. We are excited to be back with a different version. We love the Unity theatre which always has a ton of great work on. We loved last year as the pace was packed with loads of people who were up for a good time.

What are your three favourite things about Liverpool

We live here and so our top three things are, the sense of humour, the style and the friendliness of the people. It is something unique.

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

Folk who like to have fun.
