Hello! Tell us all about your show!
Live a Little is my new hour of standup about my experience leaving my small town in Germany and became a Hot International Fashion Model. It’s a comedic fish out of water story about being thrown into a ridiculous world of constant rejection, power dynamics and Sexual Assault. I dive into some deeper topics around masculinity and experiencing assault as a straight man while staying true to my style of fast paced punchlines and dark edgy humour. I’m really proud of this RAW and Unique Hour!
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
It sounds obvious but I love Daniel Sloss. I wanna see his show, Bitter and am curious how that show is different from his regular hour. As a German I’m not a theatre kid at all. I was more of a lumberjack kid, but I’m curious to see Gianmarco Soresi’s Theatre Adult. I wanna see shows that are so different from what I do!
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
This is my first Fringe so, I don’t want to have any expectations and just enjoy the process. I want to do what intuitively feels right rather than trying to adjust what I do based on what the norm is.
If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?
I am weirdly excited to walk through Edinburgh on a rainy day (which will be most days) listening to classical music, feeling melancholic.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
I am pretty lame. I don’t really drink or party. I wake up, do yoga, meditate and then write for 2 hours fueled by Green tea. After that I’m excited to soak in the creative energy and talk to other comics.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
Since it’s my first time at the Fringe, I’m open to exploring new restaurants! I’d say any place that can provide a salad. Have any recommendations?
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
I am excited to have permission to be weird and do something a bit different from my regular standup tours. I wanna use the Fringe as a challenge to get out of my comfort zone and not play it safe!
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
I don’t bring anything since I am a strong, stoic independent alpha male German. I am very used to traveling and love being in new places!
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Thinking about still paying rent in LA plus an Airbnb in Scotland helps create a lot of financial pressure that will impact every decision I make.
