If there is one thing I love writing about is Christmas but it is also an event that I love taking photographs of. I adore the sparkling lights of Christmas so I always take a lot of pictures. I always take a lot of images of the decorations as they fascinate me. Over the next few weeks we are going to talk about some of the photographs that I have taken over the years.
If there is one place that is always a must to visit in London at this time of year then it is Carnaby Street. Every year they always find the street is the place for striking displays and today we are going to look at one of them that I really enjoyed.
It was 2019, the theme of looking after the world, recycling and keeping the world green was in full force and one of the places that this was apparent was in the Christmas decorations in Carnaby Street. From first glance you may not realise that there is a message but actually there is in the lights that was very on trend that year.
The name of this Christmas Lights display was called One Planet which was a collaboration with the conservation charity Project Zero. The aim of the display was to highlight the ocean and the urgent need to protect it and help restore it in regards to climate change.
The jellyfish in this display are really striking and when you walk through this light display it is really pretty and also stands out. I enjoyed this because it had a flow to it that felt like movement and whilst it was a bizarre style for Christmas it was also very unique and stood in my mind.
