Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
PICKLE JUICE SODA
If there is one thing that is used a lot in America, then it is the pickle. In the past, we have discussed many variations of this popular snack such as – fried, chips, as an ice cream… well today we are going to look at them as a drink form.
There is a candy shop in Pennsylvania that we have discussed a lot on this website and today we are going to focus on them again. In 2017 it was announced that they were set to release Pickle Juice Soda.
The bright, green, fizzy liquid combines the flavours of sour dill pickle with sugar. When the drink was announced online, it went viral and had a very mixed reaction – quite a few were ‘disgusted’ by the idea however others were intrigued. You can still purchase the product online for $2.99.
There are various reviews online with some commenting it is ‘not pickily enough’. There ae others that praise it for it’s delightfully sweet taste.
