What is the hardest lyric you have ever had to write and why?

It’s difficult to answer this one, there’s a lot of different answers – one of my songs, ‘nausea’, took about 3 years to write in all, so that was hard to come up with and get it to a point where I was happy with it, and then some songs are a lot more personal and the lyrics touch home a bit, but I often find they flow out a lot easier!

What is the weirdest gift or compliment a fan has given you?

I think that it’d have to be when someone said that my music reminded them of Kurt Cobain but more depressing…

Who is the best band or musician you have had the pleasure to share the stage with?

I’ve shared a stage with a great many musicians now but I think one of the best is The Empire Police. Their energy and stage presence is phenomenal!

“..Nausea’, took about 3 years to write in all, so that was hard to come up with and get it to a point where I was happy with it…”

What one of your songs has been the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?

A lot of the ones I’ve got released have been played so much that it’s muscle memory, but I wrote a song during the pandemic that utilises a really strange strumming pattern that doesn’t incorporate itself well to my guitar playing style. Practice makes perfect!

Dream Collaboration and why ?

Stephen Malkmus, of Pavement. What a songwriter! I can imagine he’s a real lovely bloke as well!
