Eight years, that is a long time – I actually have just sat here thinking about what has happened in that time and well, it is a lot! It is crazy to think that I have stayed committed to writing this website for so long – I cannot believe how it has grown and the amazing people I have interviewed and met along the way!

Due to my life being always incredibily busy due to this website and work commitments I don’t really tend to sit down and think about what I have achieved with the Phoenix Remix and I think if I did I would find it incredibly overwhelming.

Firstly – as always, thank you to those that have written features over time – James Walsh and Rachel Thorn dedicate a lot of their time to write for here in the past and thank you for the articles you have written. Thank you to all of the fantastic acts – improv, comedy, music, theatre that I have had the opportunity to both interview and promote.

Finally thank you to everyone who reads this website, you push me to keep writing, exploring and interviewing acts and finding new topics to discuss.

Reason for article:  I find it fascinating when you get inspired by something that it makes you want to write something and that is exactly what a video on YouTube did for me. I have never watched Last Of Us as I am not a fan of Zombies, however I am very aware of the game as I am an avid gamer and a fan of all the other content by Naughty Dog. So when YouTube recommended I watched an interview with the creators of the game, the writer of the show and the actors I decided to watch it. It was really interesting that it got me to think about adaption in an improv sense and this article was born!

Reason for article:  I love talking to improv acts and communities that approach me and I do not know much about the m and this is exactly what happened with this interview. I am fascinated and also amazed by people that can perform improv in two languages and I found it incredibly fascinating to have the opportunity to find out more about the french improv community in London.

Reason for article:  Sometimes a podcast episode can really inspire you to think about something more in depth – well, this particular episode made me want to write a whole new feature as I walked away from this one thinking about it a lot and knew I had to write something about it. It is amazing the impact that a basic conversation can have, but this interview with Pedro Pascal lit a creative spark underneath me.

4) Musical Sliding Doors – This Week – Rock Music

Reason for article:  In November I had an idea, I was listening to a song by a band that I did not like and I thought to myself – if this was the first song that I had heard by this band, would I be the fan that I am today? It then lead to me thinking of lots of different music that I listen to and it led to this month of articles that was fun to write.

Reason for article:  I love writing travel articles, however it can sometimes be difficult to know what to write about when you have been doing it for nearly eight years. There is always something new that you can talk about and I really enjoyed this strand that I did about the different ways you can travel instead of just relying on a car all the time.
