30 Best Songs of 2021 – pt 2

It has come to the point of the year when we celebrate all things music and take a look back on the year and what songs that it has provided us with. Today we have a look at the next ten in our list of greatest songs of 2021


11) Bad Habits – Ed Sheeran

It was a big year for acts returning to the music scene this year and one of the solo artists that made a huge return was Ed Sheeran. The single was released on the 25th June and was the lead single off of his fifth studio album that was called =. It was a huge return for Ed as he had not released new album for nearly four years. It did incredibly well and went to number 1 in many countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom and the US.


12) Permission To Dance – BTS

Another song that Ed Sheeran actually had a hand in was the single Permission to Dance as he was one of the songwriters for it (the others were Johnny McDaid, Steve Mac and Jenna Andrews). The single by BTS was released on the 9th July 2021 and was released through the record labels Bit Hit and Sony. It did well in the charts and went to number 1 in US, Singapore, Malaysia, India and Japan just to name a few.


13) Kiss My ( Uh-Oh) – Anne Marie feat Little Mix

There were many collaborations that were released this year but one of them that was catchy and released mid year was this one by Anne Marie and Little Mix. The track Kiss My (Uh-Oh) was released on the 23rd July 2001. The track was the fourth single from Anne-Maries second studio album Therapy. It did well in the charts and went to number 10 in the UK Charts.


14) Fleabag – Yungblud

Off the back of the release of his successful first full length album at the end of last year, this year saw Yungblud release a numbe of singles and one of those included Fleabag. The single was released in August and had a grunge like feel to it. The song focuses on topics about feeling of how an expectation of a person can block them from being who they are truly meant to be.


15) Long Way Down, Zebrahead

Losing a lead singer of a band when they quite can be a pretty hard thing to deal with and that is exactly where Zebrahead found themselves at the end of last year. This year they got their friend Adrian Estrella to jump on board and become a new member. This year they released new music including a Long Way Down which was released in September. The EP III was released in November and was welcomed with high reviews and praise.


16) Dragoball, McFly

Years ago McFly wrote a song that was a contender in becoming part of the soundtrack for Dragonball:Evolution and sadly did not make the cut and then was locked away until an acoustic version was leaked online. Well fans were incredibly excited to see that the song was finally made into a studio version this year and was released in September.


17) Let Somebody Go, Coldplay feat Selena Gomez

The British rock band Coldplay released a collaboration this year with American singer Selena Gomez. Let Somebody Go was released on the 15th October 2021 and was part of the ninth studio album by the band called Music of the Spheres. The song went to number 24 in the charts in the United Kingdom and number 9 in the US charts.


18) Rule The World, The Wanted

This year the boyband The Wanted returned with their first single in seven years called Rule The World. The track was written by band member Max, Avi Leff and Michael Pollock. The track comes from their greatest hits album Most Wanted which was released in November.


19) Good 4 U, Olivia Rodrigo

In May 20201, American singer and songwriter Olivia released the single Good 4 U. The track takes inspiration from Paramore’s single Misery Business. The single comes from her debut album Sour which was also released in May. The single did very well in the charts and went to number 1 in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Hungary, Switzerland, UK and USA Mainstream to name a few.


20) I Wanna Be Your Slave – Måneskin

This year has been a really good one for Italian Rock band Måneskin after winning the Eurovision song contest, they have ended up doing extremely well in the charts. They released the single I Wanna Be Your Slave on the 16th July 2021 under the record label Sony & RCA. It has done really well and went to number in Finland, Slovakia and top 5 in UK, Norway, Lithuania, Israel and Ireland to name a few.
