Off The Record – Magic Of The Music Video Special – For Your Entertainment, Adam Lambert

Last year, we launched a brand new set of articles called The Magic of The Music Video which looks at videos that have inspired me as a Video Editor. Well, I thought I would bring that article to life in more ways then one by celebrating certain albums that some of those singles have come off of. Why do this you ask? Well, you may know the songs but may of never actually listened to the albums so welcome to this section of this feature that will happen throughout the year.  In November we featured Adam Lambert so today we are looking at today at the album where If I Had You came from – For Your Entertainment

Strut

This song opens with a fantastic beat that really builds up throughout the song and really defines what you can expect from the rest of the song. It is really catchy and has a real ‘sexy’ feel to it with the lyrics and the style of rhythm that it entails. A very great album track.

Music Again

This is the first song on the album and it is a great song for the debut album to start on – it is really catchy and has a very fun style to it. It really sets up what this album is all about and sort of hints to the style to come. It has a great guitar riff that really makes it stand out and a chorus that allows you to really see the different limits that this man can sing.

Soaked

This song starts off really dramatic with a piano and strings melody that really creates an effective opening. This song is a sort of ballad but when you listen to it, there are elements that remind you of Muse or even a theatre performance as it is not your average pop song. The way that the music is so unique means it allows Adams vocal range to really be highlighted throughout.
