We are currently putting on hold all Show Of The Week articles so instead we are delving into the archives with a few articles every Monday to make up for it. So every Monday we will be sharing a few interviews from our archives for you to read and enjoy – this is everything from the world of improv, to comedy to music. Enjoy.
Comedy Book Corner – Join Me, Danny Wallace
I read alot and one of the things I love to do is write a review about comedy themed books I have read so that you can get an idea as to whether you want to give it a read or maybe even discover a book you didn’t even realise existed. One of the books that I reviewed in 2018 was by author Danny Wallace where he decided to create a cult and see if anyone would join.
‘…His uncle only managed to gain a few people however due to a bet made down the pub…’
How Improv Changed Their Life – Liam Brennan
We used to run a feature where we would ask improvisers from the UK improv scene as to how improv changed their lives. These guest posts follow the way they discovered improv and how they ended up taking part in the comedy form. This is one of the articles written by Liam Brennan.
‘…Beginners were bravely throwing themselves in at the deep end and I realised that even if any of us drowned that nothing bad was going to happen.…’
The in Depth Album Review – The New Regime
Some of you may not of heard of The New Regime and if you haven’t you should check them out now. In March of this year they released a debut album and we decided to review it.
‘…If you are listening to a band or a musician you haven’t listened to before an album can be quite an intimidating item and the fact a handful of songs was released gradually means you can truly appreciate the music the artist is making…‘
Due to Coronavirus being unpredictable there is no guarantee as to when articles at 12:30pm on a Monday will go back to normal. So whilst Into The Archives… will now be finishing for the time being, there is a possibility it will return in September.
Thank you to all of those who have adapted to the article changes and taken the time to go on the journey of the archives with us.
In the meantime, if you have any show you want promoted then please get in contact with us at phoenixremixcomedy@gmail.com
