The 30 Day Book Challenge! – Day 21 – Favourite Book From Your Childhood

Welcome to a brand new feature that is going to run for this month – this April we are going to celebrate the world of Books! The last few weeks and months we have all been part of a weird world to say the least so this month we thought it would be nice to talk about something that allows you to escape even if it just for a chapter at a time. So this month we are taking on the 30 Day Book Challenge and looking at a different topic each day, enjoy!

Day 21: Favourite Book From Your Childhood
NAME OF BOOK: Winnie The Pooh, A.A.Milne

pooh 2When I was a kid, there were two authors that I remember playing a huge part in my life – one of them was Mick Inkpen and the other was A.A.Milne. I loved Winnie The Pooh, it is such a great story for all the family and really defines what imagination a child has all round.

I had a lot of Winnie The Pooh books growing up and I still have them today as I refuse to throw them away. I even have one book that I saved from a charity shop or a car boot sale that is falling apart but I refuse to throw it away.

I love the stories of Winnie The Pooh some of my favourite tales include The Flood, The Honey Tree and the One where Pooh gets stuck in the entrance to Rabbit’s house. The best thing about the books is the drawings and the way the illustrations intertwine around the text. Also another great thing about the books is the map of the Hundred Acre Woods.

The thing I love is that a lot of the films have stayed true to the books and bring the illustrations and book to life in them as well – even in the film Christopher Robin.

There are so many characters to love – Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeeyore, Owl, Roo, Kanga, Rabbit – what is there not to love?
