Due to the popularity of Question Roulette the past few years, I thought it was time to jump to another book with lots of questions. This time the book is called Music Madness Mayhem – the book covers everything from film, television, music, and much more! So every week we will be covering questions from the book until we run out! I am not going to number them this time as I am going to be doing the book in a random order!
Topic of the week – Music Artists
The other week we discussed bands so it is only right that we do a whole article to celebrate the world of the solo artist. So this week we look at different artists that I like and all the reasons why.
Lady Gaga – Lady Gaga is super talented and she can sing any genre and make it phenomenal. It is no wonder why she has won so many awards. I don’t listen to her as much as I should but I really like the way she sings, she brings so much emotion and power to everything. The other thing that I really like about her is that she isn’t just about music, it is all about the persona and performance that she puts on in any situation – the outfits, the shows, it is so unique and it is what made her stand out so much when she first started out.
Justin Timberlake – I was never really an NSync* fan but when Justin went solo I started to really like his music, although saying that I found his album really disappointing. I only started to like his albums on the release of Future Sex/Lovesounds and then I found that he was starting to come into his own. He is another singer that is really talented and great fun to watch live.
Eminem – I have been a fan of Marshall Mathers as long as I can physically remember, there is no-one like Eminem and her keeps releasing amazing music. I love his older music the best but there are a lot of tracks he has released in recent years that are just astounding – Rap God always amazes me as to just how many words he can fit into a song – breathtaking.
Sean Paul – Sean Paul is an artist I listen to ever so often as I actually like a lot of his music releases. His songs are not something I would really listen to on a regular basis but ever so often all I want to do is listen to his tracks and bop along.
Pitbull – Pitbull is another musician that I go through stages of really wanting to listen to as again his music I find strangely addictive. I think it is because again the music is really up tempo and I thoroughly enjoy them. See a spring in my step? I am more then likely listening to Mr Worldwide.
Childhood Favourites –
Robbie Williams – I wasn’t really into solo artists as I was all about the pop bands when I was younger but I do remember there was a few I liked. I always was a fan of Robbie Williams solo music and used to love all the singles he released. I never had any of his albums and then one day I bought I’ve Been Expecting You from a charity shop and really liked it. I felt some of the songs was a bit silly, but the majority of it was ok.
Britney Spears – I never had Britney Spears albums, I have listened to them since and I am glad I didn’t as there are a lot of songs that have very cheesey lyrics. Although saying that, growing up as a kid in the late nineties and early noughties there was always Britney singles around and as a girl around 10 all you wanted to do was learn the dance routines.
Since I have already spoken about Lady Gaga, I am not going to again but saw her live and she was amazing, saw JT’s solo show on Netflix and loved that too, here are some performances that stick out to me.
Bruno Mars – Not a fan of Bruno Mars music but his half time show at the NFL Superbowl was so good a few years back that he really impressed me. In regardless to what you think of him, this guy can really put on an amazing show and that one performance lead me to have huge respect for him.
JLo / Shakira – We have to mention the NFL Superbowl this year, both Jennifer Lopez and Shakira put on an amazing performance this year and it was an absolute showstopper. If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend you youtube it.
