30 Best Songs of 2018 Part 3

It has come to the point of the year when we celebrate all things music and take a look back on the year and what songs that it has provided us with. This year has been the year of the comeback, so many artists have returned to the music scene and have had huge hit singles in doing so. Today we have a look at the final ten in our list of greatest songs of 2018.

 

21 Gods Plan – Drake

This song was released by Drake at the beginning of the year and it went to number 1 in a whopping 18 different music charts worldwide! The song was nominated and also won a number of awards including Video of the Year at the BET Awards. The song even broke first-day streaming records on Apple Music and Spotify!

 

 

22 Shotgun – George Ezra

This year saw the return of musician George Ezra with an array of new music. This song was released in May and was the third single from the second album Staying At Tamara’s. The song went to number one in the UK and was his first ever number one and went certified platinum.

 

 

23 I Love It – Kanye West and Lil Pump 

This song made the headlines this year for its very bizarre music video. The song was produced by Kanye West with DJ Clark Kent. The song was premiered at the Pornhub Awards this year and it reached number one in Canada, Finland, New Zealand and Sweden.

 

 

24 Shallow – Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga

If there has been one film that has been on everyones lips this year then it has been none other then  A Star Is Born. The remake has received raving reviews for both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper and there is much Oscar talk around it. The song was written by Lady Gaga with Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt. It went to number 1 in many countries including the UK.

 

 

25 Lullaby – Sigala and Paloma Faith

This song was released in February of this year, and went into number 1 in the UK Dance chart. The song was the second collaboration by Sigala with Take That being the first in 2017.

 

 

26 Thank U, Next – Ariana Grande

This is a song that in the past month has been one on everyones lips and has gone viral both as a song as a viral video by James Corden (Thank u Jeff ) . The song has broken a number of records including most plays in a single day by a single artist on Spotify.  It has reached number one in so many countries that it is hard to just list them on here. The music video is also a parody of a variety of teen films such as Mean Girls, 13 Going On 30 and Legally Blonde

 

 

27 Nineties – Busted

Another band that returned with new music at the end of the year was none other then Busted and just like Ariana they came along with a music video that was also a parody of a theme however this time the nineties. In the videos the guys do many nineties things including performing on TOTP and being the Princes of Bel Air

 

 

28 Baby Shark

Every year there needs to be a song that goes viral and this year was the year of the baby shark. The song was originally released in 2016 but didn’t go viral until this year. The version of the song that we are talking about was released in South Korea and comes under the genre of K-Pop. So many people have done viral videos of it and it has that really catchy song format which will mean it will get stuck in your head.

 

 

29 Make You Feel My Love – Nick Knowles 

The presenter of DIY SOS entered the jungle this year for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! In 2017 Nick Knowles released an album and radio DJ Chris Moyles made it his mission when he was in the jungle to get his song to number 1. The campaign worked and got Nick to number 1 in the ITunes chart. As you may remember we have spoken about his music before on Forgotten Pop! So it’s great to see him having some success.

 

 

30 High Hopes –  Panic! At The Disco 

Straight off the back of performing in the Broadway show Kinky Boots, Brenda Urie went onto release new Panic! At The Disco music. The song reached number 5 in the US billboard charts and became their highest charted single worldwide.
