The most recent trend in the travel show is to attach a comedy to it and there are so many – some serious, some spoofs, some that are the dynamics of an actual scripted comedy and others because they were one big practical joke! Travel Thursdays have just got bigger as we are now adding a comedic spin on it where we are looking at the comedian versus the travel.

Today we look at a series that was released because the one that came before it did so well. He is on one of the longest running panel shows on the BBC and is part of an improv troupe away from the big screen but also Paul Merton has done a number of travel shows as well.

Paul Merton In India was released in 2008 on Channel 5 and Fox History and Entertainment in India as well. The show was produced by Tiger Aspect Productions and in the one series it saw Paul Merton travel around the country experience areas and activities that are offbeat and different to what is expected.

In the five part show,Paul meets dancing policeman in Bathinda, visits the worlds largest tricycle, experiencing Mollywood and takes a trip to Bangalore.

This show is really interesting programme to watch and recommend a watch. The show was really successful and was followed by a programme about Europe which we will explored at a later date.
