The Travel Book – Travel Through A Photo – Podčetrtek, Slovenia

There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

I have only visited Slovenia once and I absolutely loved it. I made a friend one summer in England who was Slovenian and she invited me to visit her. So, one year I jumped on a place by myself and went to visit her.

Slovenia is a wonderful place and I would say in the top 5 of the places I have visited. Having a tour guide who actually knew the country inside out made it even more special. She took me to all these wonderful places and lots of tiny villages that were really pretty. Today’s photograph was taken in one of these places.

This is the Olimje Monastery in Podčetrtek which is known as Olimje castle. I really love this photograph as it highlights just how fascinating the architecture is in Slovenia.

I really like this photograph as it brings back a lot of memories and that it was a really hot day. I love the colours of the building and as it was so unique, bold and really really pretty.

I adore the way that the grey is contrasted against the bold green grass and trees around it. I feel that it creates a wonderful photo and I love looking at it.
