Chelsea is on a mission, to help you to sort your life out and become in control of it in everyway possible. Inspired by a magic show she attended where she was forced to participate and felt uneasy how the magician controlled her ‘with magic’ she felt it was time to take things into her own hands to teach her audiences her own way to control everything.
It is really hard not to instantly like Chelsea as she has this way on stage at automatically feeling like she is your friend. Her friendly and smiley persona on stage heightens her comedy because some of her show is pretty dark but because of the way she presents it, the topics are fun and hilarious.
To be taken seriously in this show and to portray the business woman in her, the whole show relies on PowerPoint – which again is a great instrument to bring the audience on her side and also create this vulnerable, hilarious side to the show.
In the show we are welcomed to her alter-ego CheChe which creates a lot of comedy and heightens the show and the concept. There is a specific audience participation with one member of the crowd which makes it fun and creates a lot of the comedy throughout.
Lots of topics are covered such as parents, puffins, taxi drivers, the works of Tony Robbins and visible abs. There are also some topics covered later on that create the vulnerability you want from a stand up show as well and also gives an insight into the difficult choices women face at a certain age.
This is a really fun, well rounded stand up comedy show, that is light hearted and I would say would be enjoyable for a lot of audiences. It is one of those shows that I think is great as an introduction to those who may not of been to a stand up show before as there is something for everyone and Chelsea has a way of charming the audience and making everyone feel like a part of her world.
An evening treat.
