All this month we are celebrating areas around Edinburgh that you could visit as a day trip to have a short break from the hustle and bustle of the Fringe.
One of the best things about Scotland is that a lot of the time you are not too far away from a beach or somewhere beautiful. If you are heading to the Edinburgh Fringe you may want a really pretty place to detox and today we are heading to a short train journey from the city.
North Berwick is just twenty miles away from Edinburgh and you can get there with a short train journey away for a reasonably price. It is a seaside town with beaches that you will instantly enjoy.
One of the reasons North Berwick is so popular is because of it’s Scottish Seabird Centre. The area is surrounded by several islands that are the home to a colony of puffins and gannets. Throughout the day there are boat tips you can pay to go on to see some of these places up close.
The highlight of North Berwick is the coastline there is so much to see and there are also some lovely places to chill and lots of rock pools to explore. It is one of those places that is really scenic and it is a great place to come to have some time out.
