Hello! Tell us all about your show!

Ancient myths. Modern questions. Legendary is a solo ritual musical exploring Chinese mythology and queer lineage, and at the end of the evening, invites the audience to create a new myth together.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Gianmarco Soresi’s Stand up special and Penelope performed by Grace McLean

If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?

Getting to meet all the artists from all over the world. I can’t wait to see all the other shows that are at the festival!

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Morning: Warm Up body and voice / do some flyering!

2pm: Prep and get into makeup, get some props set up

2:45pm: Walk to the venue with our 10 yellow helium balloons (which will be part of the show you’ll see!) (Also we’re staying about 20 mins away, so it’s nice to get our steps in)

3:20 Set up

3:35 Showtime

5pm End of Show and tear-down / Dinner + hopefully see one show a few times a week in the evening

Get plenty of sleep because the show is extremely demanding, repeat!

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

It really is about the community, isn’t it? I’m excited to meet everyone who is putting up musicals because I want to see what everyone is up to!

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

Yes, my therabody face mask. Because establishing a daily 12 minute routine is important.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

I’m going to pack some food for lunch since I rarely eat before a show anyway, but make sure I have a hearty dinner so I have enough energy to get me through the day.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

You can find me on Instagram, Tiktok, Little Red Note and YouTube @cheeyangmusic

You can also follow the show at @legendarythemusical on Instagram

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Communal Trans Joy
