Hello! Tell us all about your show!

My show is a fairly unique, heartfelt (and hopefully still hilarious) stand-up show about festive joy, family and the Christmas Day that changed everything. I’ve tried to blend big laughs with theatrical storytelling to create a show everyone can connect with. It’s a deeply personal show and I like to think it’s for anyone who loves, or hates, Christmas!

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I always love to see other Scottish based acts do well at the Fringe and shine a light on them so a big shout out to fantastic comics, Rosco Mclleland, Mark Nelson, Kate Hammer, Amanda Dywer and Gareth Waugh to name but a few. I’m also a sucker for sketch groups and was delighted to see Cry Babies is going to be back with a new show.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

I have done the fringe many times and the main piece of advice I would always say is to just try and enjoy performing your own show as much as possible. That sounds straight forward but it can often feel like a competitive landscape (if you let it) and sometimes its hard not to compare yourself or your show to other people. But you’ve worked hard to get here and you have a show you want to share with people so really focus on that. Try not to get caught up in how other people are doing. Everyone is running their own race.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

I’m a father to two young daughters – one still a baby – so I will be commuting every day. It sounds like a stress ( 3 hour round trip) but I really like getting out of the bubble after each day and coming home to reality. Theres nothing more grounding than having a great gig but then going home to deal with a poo-nami!

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

KauKau Poke! When you’re on the move a lot it’s a great healthy option when surrounded by so many other tempting deep fried offerings!

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

I love the sense of community amongst all the acts from all over the world

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

Even though I commute from home everyday, my eldest daughter always gives me a toy, or a teddy of hers to bring with me to all of my gigs. I absolutely love it.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Check out all the incredible Pay What You Want shows on offer (Like my show at Monkey barrel.)

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

On all the normal ones like insta, FB, X and even Tik Tok even though I feel far too old to know whats going on on there.

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Santa will approve!
