Hello! Tell us all about your show!

For the first time ever – the 100% true (legally unauthorised) Britney Spears story is finally going to be presented to the world stage. It’s an ambitious, full-scale immersive experience starring myself as Britney — featuring space travel, poppers o’clock bangers, murder, and because it’s late night, a lot of sexy stuff too. There are some added plot ‘embellishments’ to keep the non-Britney fans entertained – it’s a competitive time, so I have made sure this show slaps even if you’re a BJ (that’s Britney Jean) hater. Ultimately it’s a big, loud love letter to Britney, channelled through the midnight movie madness of Rocky Horror and Pink Flamingos.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I don’t really want to see too many acts I already know going in — surprise me! My best Fringe memories have come from taking a punt on shows that weren’t on my radar at all, and I think that’s what makes it such a unique festival. That said, I’ll definitely be checking out new shows from Frankie Thompson, Reuben Kaye, Patti Harrison and Ros Watt.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe. 

This is my second full Fringe run, I keep asking my friends — and honestly anyone who will listen — why am I spunking all of this money at the Fringe when I could be having a once in a lifetime holiday instead? I still don’t have a good answer. But what I do know is that independent artists risk so much bringing work here that the pressure can become suffocating, so my advice is: find the fun wherever you can. Embrace the delusion! Don’t dream it – be it!

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

Wake up (way too late). Eat breakfast (it’s easily past lunchtime now). See at least one show — this is non-negotiable. Apply bucketloads of drag makeup and hit the streets to sell tickets to the greatest immersive Britney experience the world has ever seen. Perform the greatest immersive Britney experience the world has ever seen. Eat something questionable (i’ve earned it!). Go out and see at least one more show – again non-negotiable, and probably have a few too many alcoholic beverages. I know we’re in an era of self care- but the world is on fire so let me have my vices!

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe? 

Anywhere that serves a strong spicy margarita (it makes any food taste good) 

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

If your show clicks at fringe – you’re getting access to a huge new audience. Every performer is basically doing this because they want people to see their work – I believe I have a really fucking great show, and although it’s risky, it does feel exciting to throw it out to the masses.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

Being a drag performer at the fringe is a struggle – travelling light is not an option, so I don’t have the space to bring personal items with me. So I will have to make do with cuddling up to my giant prosthetic arse (if you see the show it will make sense)

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Flirt with strangers! I’ve already blown my budget bringing this show to the Fringe – so my new tactic is to hustle for as many freebies as possible.

Trust me, it’s amazing how persuasive a 7ft Britney impersonator can be in the flesh, but if that fails… actually it can’t fail, I don’t have any money.
