Hello! Tell us all about your show!
The show is about my dad, who died suddenly. I thought I knew him. I didn’t. While going through his belongings, I discovered he led an extraordinary life, with multiple identities, a comical array of businesses, and a secret role in aiding refugees. It’s a tragi-comedy, or a dramedy as the TV people like to call it. I perform both him and myself.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
Spencer Jones, John Kearns, Ironing Board Man…oh wait, did I just mention my other show?
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Yes, many times, maybe 18-20 times. I have lost count. Advice: Don’t worry, there’s always next year. Don’t be perfect, experiment, test yourself. Also, relax and spend time alone to recover mentally. It’s so important.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe.
Wake up, coffee, a walk or a swim, eggs for lunch, perform, cook or mosque kitchen, walk off food, bed. Repeat.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
Mosque Kitchen or those little North African wrap places. Cheapest and best places.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
Honing your craft. No matter what happens, you come home a better performer. It’s the best place in the world for creativity and originality. Nothing beats it.
Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?
My pillow. I take my pillow everywhere. Home from home feeling.
What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?
Don’t go. No seriously, Cook at home. Only print what you’ll actually give away. Don’t overspend on advertising.
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
Funny. Thoughtful. Uplifting.
