It is festival season and that means that in the next month there is so many great comedy festivals to look forward to! This month we are looking at some of the great shows that you can see at the Edinburgh Fringe. So take note because we are going to give you all the information you need for just a handful of some of the great shows happening this year!

#Hello! Tell us all about your show!

Mortal Sin is a coming of age 2 hander set in 1963 with a tonne of heart and humour. Peggy and Colm stage a protest in their tiny Irish village of Cundannon to get a day off school to honour JFK after his assasination. Not much goes to plan and hijinks ensue. Ultimately this show is a celebration of friendship, especially when you’re the outcast oddballs. Colm and Peggy stick it to the man… well, Sister Asumpta anyway!

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I am buzzing to see all the irish talent thats at this years Fringe. Aoife Dunne is playing at Gilded Balloon Teviot too so will definitely catch her. She’s gas! Hoping to get into Wanging On Live. We can’t wait to see Julias Cesar Varitety Show and Good with Faces as well!

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe. 

I’ve only ever done fringe as a punter so unfortunately we’re the ones looking for advice. Maybe we’ll be (much) older and wiser come september. 

If this is your first time – what are you looking forward to?

Just getting stuck in! The vibe around Edinburgh during the Fringe is unmatched. Everyone up for a good time and to see some great, weird, hilarious shows. 

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

We are very, very lucky, and have a gym in our accommodation so use that before the show (or after, if we end up at some late shows the night before) After the show,  grab some lunch and check out what we can see that day. Oh, and flyering – lots of flyering!

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe? 

I am dying to try Holy Cow but have only heard great things – future me says there!

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

A whole new international audience seeing your work and getting to see so many shows in return. 

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

We brought the entire village of Cundannon with us for the show! You’ll have to come see it for yourselves

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Prep food as best you can. Bring snacks and try not to buy too much coffee (this one, i struggle with)
