There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

Heatwaves in London can create some really interesting photographs. Sometimes the sky can look really bright in photography but then other times the sky can go a really faded colour, particularly in photographs and that is what we are looking at today.
There was a huge heatwave in 2019 and it meant working in London was uncomfortable as it was just too hot. It also meant that when you took photographs they would have an unusual look to the image.
This is a photograph I took of The Shard in the blistering heat. The colours of the image look faded due to the sunlight being really hot. The height of the Shard gives it power and depth to the image. I also quite like the position of the building as well. The shadows on the picture give it a really interesting look and that is why I think it is interesting as a photograph.
